Rock examines life as a
road of continuing knowledge,
and make no mistake, if we
are alive then we are on this road. As we learn and grow through life’s experiences we are in a continuing school of knowledge whether we like it or not. When one thinks of a rock
several thoughts may come to mind. A rock is solid, and often when someone refers
to their “rock” they refer to life’s goals, passions,
and direction. In another
sense,
a solid rock
can
be compared to a foundation – such
as the
foundation
of a sturdy building.
Most of
us will build our life on a foundation
of sorts. Some lay a foundation in
religion
or spiritual matters, while others base
their foundation
in science and
physical matters. Some will even build their knowledge based
on both combined. Those
who don’t find a rock or
foundation may
be blown about like a leaf in the
wind, following whatever
direction
the
wind happens
to be moving
at the time. |
The more we experience the school of life, the better we become at discovering
and grasping
truth -
which then can be used in building a foundation. Truth is an interesting
concept meaning different things to different people. In the dictionary truth is often
defined as "facts."
If this is the case, to gain knowledge and understand truth
we must learn facts. However,
pinning down truth is rarely as easy as
just finding facts.
Two forms of truth
could be
catagorized as
absolute
truth and perceived truth.
Most of us hold on to perceived truth through faith in something. Sometimes
we discover that something we thought was true is not. If we want to progress on the road
to knowledge, it is important to admit mistakes and move on to further learning. As we
move ahead in life, attempting to improve ourselves in goodness, we must seek out and
apply true principles to our lives. While doing this, it is important to remember that
where there is goodness there is always a negative element to oppose it.
Truth
referred to
here
is knowledge that perpetuates quality
and harmony. As we
learn and progress
it is imperative
that we stand on a foundation of truth. |
